Get Rid of Your Carpets For Tiled Floors
Carpeted floors are definitely the way to go when you want to show that your home has style. Or so I’ve been told, and I fell for it. But, don’t get me wrong, though. I am not denying that carpeted floor will lend some style to your home. I am just peeved that my carpeted floors require so much attention and upkeep.
First and foremost, you have to choose the specific carpet that you have to buy. It should be a good pattern to the rest of the house; otherwise it’ll look forced. Then there’s the daunting task of cleaning it everyday; carpets are like dust magnets, after all. And what happens when the inevitable spill comes along? One will have to clean the whole carpet immediately or risk a permanent stain.
I learned too late that carpets are just not worth the time and money. After about a year of frustrations, I remembered thinking that something that has cost me this much should at least be something that I did not have to mind as much. And luckily, I eventually found the perfect reason to completely discard my carpets.
I made a decision to have my floors tiled. My life has been a lot better since then because of that decision. I no longer have to stress about the tiles and grout every single day. Instead, I just do a bit of sweeping which takes me roughly five to ten minutes and I’m done for the day. While I still need to watch out for the occasional spills, I never worry about it as urgently as I did with carpets. Tiles are much easier to clean.
Aside from that, I only need to maintain my tiles whenever I start to notice dark spots appearing in my grout. When this happens, I take it as a sign that I need to contact the professionals to come in and deal with a budding problem. Because I sweep rather consistently, I only need to call upon them only once every two months or so.
Don’t waste your time on carpeted floors if you wish to have elegant looking floors! Get rid of those carpets and switch to tiles, and I can assure you that this is one good decision. You can have beautiful floors without succumbing to too much upkeep.
